Happy New Year to all my angel friends.  In 2016, may you be happier than you've ever been, laughing harder, smiling wider, standing taller, walking lighter, dancing crazier, hugging longer, living grander, loving louder.  Today we celebrate new beginnings. Today we take pause to be grateful for the past which has constructed our road to the now. Today is a day to remember that anything is possible in this moment.

Believe in yourself, in love, in trust, in magic, in angels, in happy endings, in God, in promises, in miracles, in people, in fairytales, in following your heart, in peace and happiness, in never growing up, in following your passions and making your dreams come true, in always having fun, in helping people, in making the world a better place, in changing for the better.

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change!

In Love AND Gratitude for your presence in my life

The Angel of January - teaches us to look within, to take stock of ourselves and our lives. The January angel keeps us company as we ponder over those long, cold winter nights, helping us to be honest with ourselves and patient at the same time. Conveying the wisdom of an elder, the January angel takes our hand as we seek to glean understanding from our lessons of the past year. With this support, we can give ourselves both recognition and admonition and admonition in their turn. With this help, we can chart a new course or alter our present one. We seek and receive the companionship of the January angel to warm us through the winter of our introspection.

Today is a new day.  A new beginning.    It is a day brimming with unlimited possibilities.  Like a blank page of a script, you can write down your hopes and desires, and move the flow of your life along with the intention of your own thoughts.

Today the angels attend you, available to help you in your every need.

The Road to New Beginnings

by Madisyn Taylor

Just as new beginnings are important, so is honoring the experience of closure.

Life is a collage of beginnings and endings that run together like still-wet paint. Yet before we can begin any new phase in life, we must sometimes first achieve closure to the current stage we are in. That’s because many of life’s experiences call for closure. Often, we cannot see the significance of an event or importance of a lesson until we have reached closure. Or, we may have completed a certain phase in life or path of learning and want to honor that ending. It is this sense of completion that frees us to open the door to new beginnings. Closure serves to tie up or sever loose ends, quiets the mind even when questions have been left unanswered, signifies the end of an experience, and acknowledges that a change has taken place.

The period of completion, rather than being just an act of finality, is also one of transition. When we seek closure, what we really want is an understanding of what has happened and an opportunity to derive what lessons we can from an experience. Without closure, there is no resolution and we are left to grieve, relive old memories to the point of frustration, or remain forever connected to people from our past. A sense of completion regarding a situation may also result when we accept that we have done our best. If you can’t officially achieve closure with someone, you can create completion by participating in a closure ritual. Write a farewell letter to that person and then burn your note during a ceremony. This ritual allows you to consciously honor and appreciate what has taken place between you and release the experience so you can move forward.

Closure can help you let go of feelings of anger or uncertainty regarding your past even as you honor your experience – whether good or bad - as a necessary step on your life’s path. Closure allows you to emotionally lay to rest issues and feelings that may be weighing down your spirit. When you create closure, you affirm that you have done what was needed, are wiser because of your experience, and are ready for whatever life wants to bring you next.

“You stand at the threshold of a grand adventure. And the extent to which
you are able to experience the fullness of that journey is determined
by the extent to which you are able to let go of the scenarios that no
longer serve you.

What is the purpose of exploring a new path? It is to experience a moment, a purpose or even perhaps a lifetime that is greater than what is available in the current reality or experience. It is to be in choice regarding one's reality and experience. When one desires to move beyond a certain threshold, a creative act called desire invites energy to participate and interact in new and different ways.

As Spiritual Beings we are empowered to meet Life itself creatively, with composure and Self-confidence knowing the creative power of our desires, thoughts, and words we generate day by day, moment to moment. God is wisdom, life, power, beauty, joy, peace, wholeness, and happiness. We have the power to blaze new trails effortlessly, simply by virtue of what we are.

"New Beginnings . . .

Each day is a new beginning . . . another chance to learn more about ourselves, to care more about others. To laugh more than we did.   To accomplish more than we thought we could.   To be more than we were before.

1.  Acknowledge That You Have Dreams:  You know what your dreams are, you really do. You've just pushed them down so deep that it might take some time to bring them to the surface again. Let them out, you deserve to live them.

2. Write Down Your Dreams:   How can you live your dreams if you can't see what they are? Write them down. Don't judge your dreams or wonder "how?" Just do it! Sometimes we continue at habits or thoughts that no longer serve us because we are not sure who we would be without them. Trust that a new you will emerge once you get rid of the blame. Trust that the answers and the direction you seek are there once the cloud of blame has been cleared.

3. Realize That Dreams Come True In Steps:    Your dreams cannot come true until you take a small step. It doesn't have to be a large one. It just has to get you moving. Small steps are the steps that will get you to your dreams. Until, one day, you realize that you are there.

4. Face The Barriers That Are Keeping You From Living Your Dreams:  What's keeping you from living your dreams? Not enough money or time? Too many responsibilities? Look for ways to overcome this. There will always be a reason not to do something. It's up to you if you want to give into these reasons or not.

5. Find People Who Will Support You:   Select people who will love you and cheer you on as you move toward your dreams. Tell them how much you love and appreciate them. You do not want to live your dreams by yourself.

6. Pat Yourself On The Back For Your Successes:  You deserve it! The fun part of living your dreams is the journey. It is the road to success that builds character and the part that you will remember the most.

7. Be Comfortable With Fear:  There are times when you will wonder if you have what it takes to fulfill your dreams or if you deserve to live them. Fear is a normal part of the process. If you can accept that sooner or later you will be afraid, then you don't have to spend time worrying about what you will do when fear sets in. The only way past fear is through it and not around it. There is no other way.

Burst out of your Cocoon - Can you sense that one phase of your life is ending and a new one is beginning?   Do you feel that you are on the verge of exciting new possibilities but aren't sure where they'll come from?  Does it seem that the life as you know it is crumbling before your eyes?  You aren't imaging things nor are you in danger.  You're simply breaking free from past karma and releasing your spirit to a greater tomorrow.  Your soul's purpose right now, like a butterfly finding its way out of its cocoon, is to shed the past and soar to new heights.  You're on the threshold of spreading your spiritual wings in a brand - new directions of understanding and embracing your full potential.  This is a very exciting time, and well worth preparing for. Your souls lesson, clear the decks and release what no longer attracts you. Step away from things and situations, and people that bring you no joy or vitality, because you can't reach out for something greater if you don't first drop what’s in your hand. You're entering spiritual adulthood, able to fully engage with life on your terms. Change can be difficult, but don't be afraid, even the butterfly as it emerges from the cocoon thinks that it is dying.  All that's ending is an old, stagnant self that no longer serves your spirit, so turn your fear into action. Who are you today and what do you want to experience right now?  The answer is unfolding, and you'll love what you discover. Nothing stands in your way.

For 2016, I promise myself…

  • I promise myself to be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind
  • I promise myself to talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person I meet
  • I promise myself to make all my friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them
  • I promise myself to look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true
  • I promise myself to think only the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best
  • I promise myself to be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own
  • I promise myself to forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future
  • I promise myself to wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature I meet
  • I promise myself to give so much time to improving myself that I have no time to criticize others
  • I promise myself to be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble
  • I promise myself to think well of myself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words, but in great deeds
  • I promise myself to live in the faith that the whole world is on my side, so long as I am true to the best that is in me

Promise yourself that you'll spend some time reflecting on who you want to be in the upcoming year.  Then, make it so.

20 Tips for a Positive New Year    by Jon Gordon

1. Stay Positive. You can listen to the cynics and doubters and believe that success is impossible or you can know that with faith and an optimistic attitude all things are possible.

2. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement: My purpose is_______________________.

3. Take a morning walk of gratitude. It will create a fertile mind ready for success.

4. Instead of being disappointed about where you are think optimistically about where you are going.

5. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

6. Transform adversity into success by deciding that change is not your enemy but your friend. In the challenge discover the opportunity.

7. Make a difference in the lives of others.

8. Believe that everything happens for a reason and expect good things to come out of challenging experiences.

9. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

10. Mentor someone and be mentored by someone.

11. Live with the 3 E's. Energy, Enthusiasm, Empathy.

12. Remember there’s no substitute for hard work.

13. Zoom Focus. Each day when you wake up in the morning ask: “What are the three most important things I need to do today that will help me create the success I desire?” Then tune out all the distractions and focus on these actions.

14. Instead of complaining focus on solutions. It’s the key to innovation.

15. Read more books than you did in 2015. I happen to know of a few good ones.

16. Learn from mistakes and let them teach you to make positive changes.

17. Focus on “Get to” vs “Have to.” Each day focus on what you get to do, not what you have to do. Life is a gift not an obligation.

18. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements:

• I am thankful for __________

• Today I accomplished____________

19. Smile and laugh more. They are natural anti-depressants.

20. Enjoy the ride. You only have one ride through life so make the most of it and enjoy it.

Ordinary people believe only in the possible.
Extraordinary people visualize not what is possible or probable,
but rather what is impossible.
And by visualizing the impossible, they begin to see it as possible.
