The Angel of December - is the angel of generosity. The December angel celebrates with us this time of giving gifts to all the wild creatures and to all of God's children. The angel of December leads us to join hands with people of all races and religions, recognizing that we are children of the same creator, and we all share the responsibility of bringing joy and health upon the earth. Inspired by December's angel, we can celebrate this season of brotherhood by doing one act of kindness every day of December ~ going out of our way to bring warmth and light into another's life.

The holidays are here and what better time to remember basic values and simple pleasures.  It is a time where gathering around the table with others is a blessing more valuable than unwrapping a new present.  And while there is nothing wrong with giving things to one another, what is of greater value is to share your hearts.   Share your words of inspiration and kindness.  Share compliments and positive words.  Share your laughter and radiant smile.   Share the things you would like your loved ones to know.  Share how you see their spirits shining brightly no matter what they see inside of themselves.    These are the gifts beyond price - the ones that last way beyond the season and live in the hearts of the receiver forever.

The Sun steps slowly into Capricorn at Winter Solstice. On December 21 it stands still before turning North on the horizon. Light, hope, and joy are its themes–it is often imaged as rays of sunlight piercing winter’s darkness. The spiritual message of this day is universal: do not despair; something wondrous and new will emerge from any suffering you may have endured this year.  It is a time of beginning.  The best meditation on this day might be the simplest–wait for the Sun to find you. Notice how it illuminates your world and give thanks.

According to tradition, Capricorn means “the horn of the goat.” Mythic legend has it that it was the sturdy mountain goat Amalthea who nursed the infant Zeus. When he accidentally broke off her horn, he vowed to fill it with whatever fruits she desired. As king of the gods, he placed her horn-the Cornucopia-in the skies as a symbol of abundance and wealth. The priestesses of ancient Greece revered the goat as an animal sacred to the Great Goddess for its life-giving milk; the graceful curve of the goat’s horns became revered as an image of the crescent moon.

To draw upon the power of the Great Goddess as nurturing gift-giver, you may wish to dedicate this Solstice to the practice of mindful generosity. If you’re feeling inwardly drained from the exhaustive preparations that so often turn this holiday season into a time of horror, take a few moments to fill your heart with spiritual bounty: light a candle to bless the coming longer days, which are decreasing, if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere. Either way, let the Sun illuminate your internal skies with hope. In silence, savor the cosmic mysteries within the temple of your heart.

Picture your inner Sun as a horn of plenty brimming with abundance. Gifts of love, hope, faith, food, money, clothing, warmth, health, laughter, trust, beauty, security, shelter, and friendship spill out in profusion. You may even wish to picture these as material symbols: a house, a coat, dollar bills, a loving hug from a close friend, a roast turkey, a gorgeous green salad, a bottle of wine, gaily wrapped gifts, a house full of family and friends.

Then, imagine that these material gifts transform into richness of emotion and spiritual wealth: the horn of plenty in your heart fills with the loving kindness embodied by the spiritual avatar of your choice, See as it streams outward, filling the needs of those loved ones around you. From deep within, you find the courage to bolster those who are afraid; to provide companionship to the lonely; healing to the ill; sustenance to the poor; hope to those in despair; inspiration to the bored; and joy to the sad and suffering.

Like an anchor amid the bustle and rush of the holiday, you may wish to return to this image on Solstice day and throughout this season, experiencing the warmth in your heart as an outpouring of divine abundance, prosperity, and well-being.

The Ego and the Spirit

The ego looks for peace — the spirit rests in it

The ego looks for love — the spirit gives it freely

The ego is in constant search for happiness — the spirit is absorbed in joy

The ego looks for control — the spirit is totally free

The ego looks for longevity — the spirit is immortal

The ego accumulates information — the spirit is Supreme Wisdom

The ego is limited by space and time — the spirit is boundless

The ego is only a player in a show — the spirit is life itself

The ego is false — the spirit is real

The ego wants more and more — the spirit has it all!

Angels are high spiritual beings ..some say they come from the heart of God

They live in the seventh heaven, which is the seventh dimension.

Angels have a lighter, faster vibration than humans, that is why they are usually invisible to most humans, as we humans lift our vibration we will be able to sense them easier.

God appoints angels as guides, protector’s, healers and helpers for His creation and uses them as messengers.

As we evolve and become purer, we develop angelic qualities.  Unlike humans they do not have free will.  Their will is the Divine will.  They act as messengers or intermediaries from God.

The best way to connect with the angels is to develop angelic qualities and behave like them.  There are many types of angels, e.g. Angels of mercy, love, healing.  Each has a different task.   You do not have to call on a specific angel, the perfect one will make itself available when you call on them.

Angels have such a great love that they respond when we send out cries from the depth of our souls.  They also have great compassion for planet Earth, which is why they are appearing in such great numbers to offer their help in these times of turbulence, distress and change.

Angels are waiting and longing to help you, but under Spiritual Law, they can only do so if you ask them to help you.  The moment you ask, they are delighted to assist you, protect you and smooth your path whenever possible.  They also wait to carry out your requests, which enable them to heal the world.

Christmas Angel Meditation

Close your eyes, be very still and imagine that a beautiful Christmas angel with pure white feather wings comes up to meet you. Did you know that everyone has their own personal angel to guide and protect them. This is your guardian angel who looks after you and loves you deeply. You feel very safe being close to your angel. The angel doesn't need to speak, as she or he can hear your thoughts. Look deeply into the angel's eyes and talk to the angel with your mind. Maybe there is a particular problem you would like to tell your angel about. Maybe you are worried or upset or cross for some reason, and no one seems to listen to you. Your own special angel is the best at understanding, so tell your angel everything. Then when you have finished telling what is on your mind, stay very still and watch the angel smile and put his or her wings around you. You are surrounded by the softest feathery angel wings. Just being hugged by your beautiful angel, sends your troubles away and makes you feel better. It is as if your angel is taking your troubles away and giving you the most lovely feeling instead. You start to feel very calm and serene and content. You feel like staying inside these angel wings forever. Feel you whole body and mind relaxing, as the angel hugs you gently. Feel your legs relax, feel your chest and back relax, your arms relax and your head relax. You feel so loved and protected by your special angel. Say to yourself, I am loved and protected, I am loved and protected.

Are you busy and stressed preparing for this Holiday season? You may find it helpful to first engage in a soothing meditation and release all tension from your body. Release all thoughts and worries from your mind and focus on developing a strong sense of inner peace. Then you can practice a state of mindfulness in every activity today, taking care to remain fully present and conscious in the now.

By keeping our focus firmly on the present moment, we can engage more fully in each experience and lend a greater sense of richness and meaning to our lives. We often tend to obsess about regrets from the past and concerns about the future and forget to focus fully on the present moment. If we instead choose to live our lives with a sense of clear mindfulness, we are able to enjoy each experience on a more profound level. We feel more alert and aware of our existence, more connected spiritually, and we experience a new depth of richness and joy in each moment. Your fears about the future will dissipate if you choose to turn your attention to creating a joyful present today.

Gift Giveaway

by Madisyn Taylor

We all know how to give the gift of a present, but it is more important to share your gifts that you were born with.

When the holidays come around, most of us join the masses in shopping for gifts, wrapping them, and giving them away. Once we are in the mind-set that this is what we are going to do, we don’t hold back or struggle with the process. We simply give the presents we have acquired, letting them go in the awareness that they were never ours anyway. If we could apply some of this unquestioning generosity with our own inner resources and gifts, we might be able to give of ourselves more freely.

In truth, our gifts only make sense when we give them away. Imagine carefully procured and wrapped presents that remain in the house of the giver, never getting to the people who were meant to have them. If we hold back, not knowing quite when to share our gifts, we all lose. Ironically, the more we give of ourselves, the more we have to offer. For example, if we have a talent for singing but we hold it back, we sing less and have less experience. On the other hand, if we offer the gift of our voice to the world at every opportunity, our talent develops and becomes still greater, and we have that much more to give.

How we present our gifts can be likened to wrapping paper and ribbons. When we truly value what we have to offer, our presentation honors what lies inside it. We speak well of our talents and introduce them with confidence and panache. Like a performer who chooses carefully what to wear and how to set the stage, we provide an environment that complements and enhances what we have to offer. Far from being superficial, a beautiful presentation is as much a part of the energy of gift giving as the gift itself. All these things together—the gift, the presentation, and the giving away—make up the joyful experience of bestowing our offerings upon the world.

Allow your JOY to flow from your soul into your words, deeds, and choices today, and the unconscious expressiveness with which you share your good mood with the world can have a positive impact on your social, familial, and professional relationships. As you make merry in the presence of family, friends, and colleagues this festive month, these individuals will likely be caught up in the tide of your cheerfulness and be inspired to make merry themselves. You may be pleased to discover that you can lift the spirits of all you encounter without having to expend any particular effort because your own positivity is the current upon which bliss flows.

The simplest tool we have to spread joy is our own happiness, since by simply expressing our feelings openly we can inspire gladness and excitement in all we encounter. There is a quality inherent in both smiles and laughter that attracts those who either feel similarly joyful or ardently wish to integrate such happiness into their lives. As we enjoy ourselves, we soon find that we are surrounded by individuals eager to share in our good mood through lighthearted conversation, communal recreation, and other expressions of good humor. When we are willing to allow these seekers of joy to be a part of our lives, we can act as an epicenter of delight. Your merry mood will become a source of inspiration for others today when you are forthright in your mode of expressing the cheer flowing through your heart and mind.

Here are a number of questions for you to consider as you progress toward the end of December and call this year a wrap:

1. What specific results have you achieved so far this year?
2. Are you healthier, wealthier, and wiser?
3. Are you winning, losing or just holding ground?
4. What results are you committed to achieve by the end of the year?
5. How have you grown and what have you learned this year?
6. Is there any unfinished business that needs to be tended to in your life?
7. Are you actively pursuing what's most important on a daily basis?
8. What habits do you need to change to ensure better results?
9. What is the key issue that inhibits your ability to perform at your best?

Love is all around. It is in the songs of the birds, the purr of a cat, the greeting of a dog, the smile of a child. It is the feeling that makes you smile and laugh. Love opens you to the wonders of the world around you. Open your self up to experience love. Rejoice in the feeling of love. Be blessed in the feeling of love.
